Mahatma Gandhi thought that Western education was hampering the Indian culture he also felt that the ideas of Western education could modernise the Indian people what will not educate but could not educate them Tagore want to combine the good aspect of it with India tradition he recognised the important of science and technology and want to promote then along with art and music dance at Shantiniketan
