Given :

  • Radius of cylinder = 3.5 m
  • Height of cylinder = 10 m
  • Side of cube = 7 m

To find :

  • Comparison of volumes of cylinder and cube and also difference between them.

Solution :

Volume of cylinder = πr²h

=> Volume of cylinder = 22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5 × 10

=> Volume of cylinder = 385 m³

Volume of cube = a³

=> Volume of cube = (7)³

=> Volume of cube = 7 × 7 × 7

=> Volume of cube = 343 m³

Therefore, volume of cylinder is more than volume of cube.

Difference in their volumes :

=> Volume of cylinder - Volume of cube

=> 385 - 343

=> 42 m³

Therefore, difference between their volumes is 42 .

||✪✪ QUESTION ✪✪||

Compare the volume of cylinder of radius 3.5 metre and height 10 metre and a cube of 7 metre. Also find the difference in their volumes ?

|| ★★ FORMULA USED ★★ ||

  • Volume of Cylinder = π * r² * h
  • Volume of cube = (side)³

|| ✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰ ||

Given That , radius and height of cylinder is 3.5 metre and 10 metre.

So,

→ Volume of Cylinder = π * r² * h = (22/7) * (3.5)² * 10 = 22 * 0.5 * 3.5 * 10 = 11 * 35 = 385m³ .

_____________________

Now, Side of Cube is Given as 7m.

So,

Volume of cube = (side)³ = (7)³ = (7*7*7) = 343m³.

Now,

Difference in Their Volume = 385 - 343 = 42m³.

Hence, Volume of Cylinder is 42m³ more Than Volume of Cube.
