Compare the white revolution and the green revolution (both similarities and differences)

Difference Between Green Revolution and White Revolution :-

1) Green revolution can be defined as significant increase in agricultural productivity resulting from the introduction of high-yield varieties of seeds, use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers and improved management techniques. Where as the White revolution can be defines as significant increase in the production of milk in India.

2) Green revolution took place in 1940s and 1960s and Norman Borlaug is considered as the Father of Green Revolution. In India, M.S. Swaminathan is known for his leading role in India's Green Revolution. Where as White Revolution (also known as Operation Flood) was a rural development program that began in India in 1970. Verghese Kurien is known as the Father of the White Revolution in India. The White Revolution was world's largest agricultural dairy development program.

3) Green Revolution was a global project and was adopted by some developing countries like India, Mexico etc. Where as White Revolution was an Indian project.

Similarities Between Green Revolution and White Revolution :-

1) Both the revolutions were associated with the operations on a large scale. 

2) Both the revolutions were adopted by India so as to enhance the lifestyle of the weaker section of the society.

3) Both the revolutions has made our country self-dependent, for example Green Revolution has created a position that now India has reduced its agricultural imports and White revolution has made our country the largest producer of milk in the world.
