An engine needs fuel to work i.e takes up chemical energy and convert into mechanical energy. A living cell also takes in Oxygen and converts it into Carbon dioxide to get energy. Cell needs time to recover fatigue, but engine doesn't need thatAlso, a cell can reproduce itself, but an engine cannot reproduce itself.the cell grows and can repair itself, but the engine can'tA cell is a living, an engine is not.
