Explanation:

As countries develop, the share of the population working in agriculture is declining. While more than two-thirds of the population in poor countries work in agriculture, less than 5% of the population does in rich countries. It is predominantly the huge productivity increase that makes this reduction in labor possible.

Similarly, productivity gains makes it possible to reduce the agricultural land needed to feed a given number of people.

Answer:

Comparison between the working style and sources of revenue of agriculture between the two periods -

1. Today the country is a democracy. government is ruled by the people. no high taxes are charged on the farmers and everyone has rights while in the past farmers had to pay high taxes to the company and they had no or very fewer rights on their lands.

2. Today the administration has changed and there are collectors to collect the revenue while at that time British officials used to collect the revenue.

3. Today the government does not force any farmer to grow a specific crop but at the time of the East India Company, the farmers were forced to grow a specific crop like Indigo.
