The Constitution of India imparts certain functions to the National Government to carry out by formulating policies and implementing certain strategies.

While National Government formulates certain policies in the center, Provincial Government on the other hand, is responsible for translating these policies into the regional context.

Among various functions of the National government and Provincial Government, two of them are:

National Government:

1)  Foreign affairs, foreign policies and international trade.

2) National economic policy and planning.

Provincial Government:

1) Social services like education, health, economic development like agriculture, road.

2) Provincial treasury, local government and human settlements.
