On function -
Xylem - It transports water and minerals upwards to the shoot system
Phloem - It transports food materials(nutrients) from the leaves to all parts of the plant
On cell type -
Xylem - It has xylem fibres, Tracheids, Xylem vessels and Xylem parenchyma
Phloem - It has sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem fibres and phloem parenchyma
