Group: elements belonging to a same group have same valency and so they have same properties. As we love from top to bottom in a group the Atomic radius keep increasing. The number of shells in a group keeps increasing.
Period : if we move from left to right direction in the periodic table the valency of the elements belonging to a same period keeps increasing by one. The Atomic radius is remains constant in a period. The number of shells in a period r constant.
➡ As we move from left to right in the period the electro negatively of the elements keep increasing because in the left side of the periodic table their r metals with electro positive character ( Lossing of electrons ) and on the right side of the periodic table their r non-metals with the electro negative character ( Gaining of electrons )
