Hot desert are those which have vast barren land and have arid soil . The temperature is very high more than 50 degree Celsius not suitable for growing lichens or moss . Varieties of scorpions , rattle snakes are found . Ex The Great Indian desert Cold desert are covered with ice throughout the year which lies in the tundra region . Icebergs are there in huge amount . The temperature is very low many times low than 0 degree Celsius and lichens grow in such type of place . Only limited species of animals like arctic fox and polar bears are found . Even the butterflies are not found there . Ex- Antarctica
