Democracy in India is based on the five democratic principles of sovereignty, socialism, secularism, democracy and republic. Head of the State is the President of India and the Prime Minister is the Head of the Government. The Prime Minister has most of the executive powers.

The Russian constitution of 1993 declared Russia as a Democracy. Russia is a federation. It is law-based, with a republican type of government. Power of the State is spread among legislative, executive and judicial departments. The Head of the State is the Russian President and he has vast, sweeping powers over the State.
