Hello mate ! ☺️

Here's the difference between isothermal and adiabatic expansion :-

Isothermal:

1. There is an exchange of heat between the system and the outside environment.

2.The temperature of the system remains constant throughout the process.

3. Isothermal processes are in general slow processes.

Adiabatic :

1. There is no exchange of heat between the system and the outside environment.

2. The heat content of the system remains constant throughout the process.

3. Adiabatic processes are in general fast processes.

Hope this helps !

Isothermal expansion is done against constant temperature whereas during adiabatic expansion the heat of the system remains same as no exchange in heat takes place.
