Hey MATE!

Complementary angles are the one whose sum of angles is 90°.

So if we are considering one angle :
(90 - \alpha ) \\ then \: other \: angle \: is \: obviously \: \alpha \: because \: if \: we \: are \: subtracting \: \alpha \: then \: we \: must \: add \: \alpha \: to \: it \: again \: to \: make \: it \: compementry. \\ \\ (90 - \alpha ) + \alpha = 90 \: \:
Hope it helps
