  • We should remember the simple rule that while changing a sentence in the active voice into the one in the passive voice, the object of the verb in the active voice will come the subject of the verb in the passive voice, while the subject will become the object in the new sentence .

  • As a general rule, the subject turned object ( new object ) is preceded by the preposition 'by' in the passive voice.

  • When we change such sentence into passive voice, only one of the objects is taken to the subject position. The other is retained in the object position.

  • Only a sentence having a transitive verb can be changed into the Passive voice.
  • If a sentence has two objects, anyone of them can be used as the subject in the passive voice.
