It's unreal. It's actually happening. An asteroid is hurtling straight for Earth and nothing can be done to stop it. Countless missions by individual countries and joint efforts have failed. Today they have reported that all efforts will be stopped. Everything we saw in Armageddon was a lie. No one can stop this. In a matter of days, maybe weeks, we're all going to die. It's not really how I planned to go, but the reality is that there are worse ways to go.
I mean, it should happen in the blink of an eye. One minute we'll be here, the next we'll be gone. They're reporting that we won't actually feel anything. I guess this is closer to Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. You think that movie's going to have a happy ending, that someone will save the planet, but that's not how it goes. I mean, I guess it's sort of a happy ending, right? The guy gets the girl, even if they only have a few hours together. A few hours is better than nothing. Or that what's you tell yourself to stop crying.
Since I only have a few weeks, maybe only days left, how am I going to spend them? I probably shouldn't be sitting here writing all of this. I should probably be out making connections with lost friends, maybe finding some new ones. Maybe even finding the love of my life. But, part of me is convinced that someone, somewhere, will one day find this, somehow. And I want there to be some kind of record of my life and the lives of those around me.
Maybe that's what I'll do. I'll go out, go out and record other people's thoughts and feelings about this. Like a time capsule, sort of. I can probably get some video too. I doubt anyone will be looking at data caps at this point. If they are, they're complete assholes. I hope people are willing to give me five minutes of their time.

[This would be interesting to keep going and have it be a controlled asteroid and once these stories are collected have the beings in control of the asteroid change their minds about destroying Earth. A consciousness would be evolving about how the people of Earth lived destructively. The blog author would get a message that everyone has to keep living in a better way - kinder to each other, better care of the planet, etc.]
