Now, according to the above figure

2y = x + 4 ......(1 eq )

=> x - 2y = -4

4x - y = 2x + y + 8

=> 2x - 2y = 8

=> x - y = 4 ... (2 eq )

Subtract equation (1) from (2), we get

x - y -( x - 2y ) = 4+4

=> x - y - x + 2y = 8

=> y = 8

put this value in equation (2) we get

x - 8 = 4

=> x = 12

. • . two sides of rectangle is 2×8 =16 and 12 +4 = 2×12+8+8=24+16=40

Now,

➡perimeter of rectangle is

2(16+40) = 2× 56 = 112unit

➡ area :-

16 × 40 = 640sq-unit

we know that length of rectangle is equal
so,4x-yis equal to 2x+y+8
so,4x-y=2x+y+8
4x-y-2x-y=8
2x-2y=8
2(x-y)=8

x-y=4
X=4+y..(I)

now wide2y=X+4
2y=4+y+4
2y=y+8
y=8
so, wide=2×8=16
from one X=4+8=12
so, length=4×12-8=48-8=40
perimeter=2(length+breath)=2(40+16)
=80+32=112
area=length X breath=40×16=640
