Subtract (I) & (II)

2x = 6

x = 3

Putting the value of x = 3 in (I) we get

4(3) + 3y = 9

⇒ 12 + 3y = 9

⇒ 3y = 9 - 12 = -3

⇒ y = -1

Thus,

(x, y) = (3, -1)
