Types of chromosomes according to shape and the position of centro-mere.

Explanation:

1- Metacentric-

Shape- X shaped.

Position of centro-mere - It is in the middle making the two arms of the chromosome almost equal.

2- Submetacentric-

Shape- L shaped where lengths of P and Q arms are unequal.

Position of centro-mere - Slightly offset resulting in the unequal lengths.

3- Acrocentric-

Shape- J shaped.

Position of centro-mere - Near one end of the chromosome.

4- Telocentric-

Shape- Appear as 'i' shaped structures during meta-phase of the cell cycle.

Position of centro-mere - Located at the very end of the chromosome
