Explanation:

a. When an acid reacts with a metal, hydrogen is liberated.

Eg: 2HCL+Zn- ZnCl2+H2^ (^ means liberated here)

(Acid: Hydrochloric acid; Metal: Zinc)

b. When an acid reacts with a metal oxide, water is given out.

Eg: 2HCL+CuO- CuCl2+H2O

(Acid: Hydrochloric acid; Metal oxide: Copper oxide)

c. When an acid reacts with a metal carbonate, water and carbon dioxide is released.

Eg: 2HCL+Na2O3- 2NaCl+H2O+CO2

(Acid: Hydrochloric acid; Metal Carbonate: Sodium Carbonate)

Hope it helps you;)
