Drugs are useful compounds that can be isolate form the plant material and this technique was developed by the Swedish Scientist whose name was Carl Wilheim Scheele. The first major and important compound was salicin obtained from the plant in the year of 1828. In the year of 1838, the salicylic acid was obtained by the Italian scientist Raffaele. He obtained this compound from bark of Willow tree via a chemical process. In the year of 1853, this salicylic compound was synthesized and modified to acetyl salicylic acid by the French scientist named Charles Frederic Gerhardt. Later this compound was rediscovered by the scientist Felix Hoffman. In the year of 1899, this drug came into the market as a pain reducing drug and the contribution for marketing this drug goes to Bayer.
