Explanation:
A small piece of happiness
It was Diwali time and shoppers were making last-minute purchases of sweets, fruits
and new clothes. Children were seen shopping for toys at the newly opened computer
games and toy shop, I was also with my parents making my deal with them to buy me
the latest version of computer games. As I was having a little argument with my mother
which was in a hurry and she very upset with me. My father was trying to convince my
mother to buy me one. Me and my father had a deal that if he convinces my mother to
buy me games, I will definitely study hard and try to increase my scores/marks in my
terms/exams.
As we were having a little conversation, our little argument , I saw a little boy outside
of the windows of the mall. The boy was asking his father and mother to give him some
food and clothes this Diwali. Some good food to eat. This was the wish he wanted to
be fulfilled with. I was listening to all their conversation. My mother who was just
behind me saw me watching the whole drama which was happening near the windows
of the mall.
My mother turned to me and asked me what was the game name I wanted. I turned
around but this time, I was in my own conscious mind feeling guilty about how
sometimes I become greedy for something which I already had many in my home.
We are a middle class family but my parents always try their best providing me with
everything.
I turned and told my mother that I don't want anything everything till now thatyou have
bought is enough for me. I told her I want to make someone else's Diwali good too! my
mother seems really happy and proud of me. We bought clothes for the boy who was
wearing literally nothing.
From this day, I made this rule for myself that the things which are sufficient and I have
with me, I won't buy again and waste the same amount again. Instead I will try making
someone else's life happy.
Small piece of kindness can make a lot more difference!
