The Precious Gift
There used to live a joint family of six members including two daughters, their mother and father and their grandparents. It was the 75th birthday of their grandmother. The family decided to celebrate it very joyfully. Father decided to bring cake from the bakery shop while their mother said that she would bake a cake on her own which would be considered as a present from her side. So their father said, "I would be decorating her room very nicely." While everybody were busy in decorations, the youngest daughter in their family was very upset. Her grandfather asked her, "What happened my child? Why are you seemed to be upset?". She replied, "Grandpa, I love grandma alot but I being the youngest child in this house cannot buy anything for her birthday. I wouldn't be granted permission to buy anything from money." Her grandpa said, "Child gifts are worthless, even if you make a gift it doesn't matter. She would like it even." "But grandpa giving something from money and giving something by making it myself, both are different. I wished to give her something from money", granddaughter said. The child was very upset and grandpa loved her a lot. He couldn't see tears in her granddaughter's eyes. So he said, "Child, while making a gift you put all your efforts for making it. And this efforts turns into feelings while somebody recieves this present. On the contrary, buying something and gifting it doesn't have any kind of feeling in it." The child said, "Ok grandpa. I'll make a present." and started making a present. Finally the time came when she gave the present to her grandma. Grandma's eyes filled with tears. She said, "This is the present I'll keep it safely for my whole life." Everyone asked what was the present. She replied, "It's the broken doll which I used to talk to when I used to be sad. I threw it because it was broken. And my child repaired it and gifted me. This is the most precious gift I've ever got."
