EXPLANATION.

Graph of the equation.

⇒ x + 2y = 4.

As we know that,

Taking y axis. it means x = 0.

Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ (0) + 2y = 4.

⇒ 2y = 4.

⇒ y = 2.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,2).

Taking x axis. it means y = 0.

Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ x + 2(0) = 4.

⇒ x = 4.

Their Co-ordinates = (4,0).

Given equation of the line is \sf{x + 2y = 4}

1) Considering x-axis then y = 0. Placing the value of y in the equation of line.

\longrightarrow\sf{x + 2y = 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{ \times  + 2(0) = 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{x + 0 = 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf\red{ x  = 4}

Thus, coordinates will be (0,2)

2) Considering y-axis then x = 0. Placing the value of x in equation of line.

\longrightarrow\sf{x + 2y = 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{0 + 2y = 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf{2y = 4} \\  \\ \longrightarrow\sf\blue{y = 2}

Thus, coordinates will be (4,0)
