sodium thiosulfate + hydrochloric acid => sodium chloride + sulfur dioxide + water + ...

solution : here Sodium thiosulfate is a base and hydrochloric acid is an acid. we know, acid and base reaction gives salt and water.

but in case of sodium thiosulfate, when it is added to hydrochloric acid, salt (NaCl) , sulphur dioxide (SO2) , water (H2O) and a cloudy suspension of solid Sulphur are formed.

i.e., Na₂S₂O₃ + 2HCl ⇒2NaCl + SO₂ + H₂O + S

Therefore sulphur should be filled in the blank.
