Observation on striated muscle fibre:

Explanation:

  1. Size and shape- Striated muscles are longer than smooth muscles and their shape is cylindrical with blunt ends.
  2. Interconnections between fibres- Striated muscles are bundled muscle fibres.
  3. Branched/ Unbranched- Skeletal muscles are unbranched and cardiac muscles are branched.
  4. Dark and light bands- Due to dark and light bands the muscle has striated appearance. The light area has no thick myofilaments and the dark band shows presence of thick myofilaments.
  5. Working capacity (Fatigueness)- Skeletal muscles are fatigue in nature while cardiac muscles are fatigue resistant.
  6. Nucleus- Multinucleate in case of skeletal muscles and uninucleate in case of cardiac muscles.
  7. Voluntary/ Involuntary- Voluntary in case of skeletal muscles and Involuntary in case of cardiac muscles.
