Ans.) First understand ...

(i) C6H5N2Cl = Benzenediazonium chloride.

(ii) H3PO2 = Hypophosphorous acid .

(iii) H2O = Water .


So , ur reaction =]

It undergoes reduction .

C6H5N2Cl + H3PO2 + H2O ➡️ C6H6 + N2 + H3PO3 + HCl .

C₆H₅N₂CI + H₃PO₂ + H₂O →C6H6 + N2 + H3PO3 + HCl


The benzene diazonium chloride will be converted to Benzene.


Benzendeiazonium Chloride will form Benzene in the presence of H2O and H3PO2.


This is the part of Benzamide to toluene process where the compound is converted to benzene diazonium chloride then to Benzene.
