Formaldehyde & Acetaldehyde

● Reductive ozonolysis -
- When alkenes/alkynes react with ozone, C=C or C≡C are broken replaced by C=O.
- For example, when propene reacts with ozone followed by treatment with Zn/H2O, it will form formaldehyde and acetaldehyde.
CH3-CH=CH2 + O3 ---> CH3-CHO + HCHO
