Dr Mehra saw Simon lying on a pavement on a sunny day. He could not resist himself and went towards Simon. He found that Simon had fainted because of the hot sun. People passing by had ignored him because they thought that Simon was just sleeping. Dr Mehra rushed to his car and took out his water bottle and ran back to Simon. He sprinkled some water on Simon’s face. Slowly Simon regained consciousness and looked around him.

Simon tried to sit down but he felt his head heavy. He immediately held on to the ground for support. When Dr Mehra asked him what happened, he slowly said that he had not eaten for three days. He was an orphan and had no job either. Like any other day, he had stepped out to look for a job. But, the heat and hunger had made him feel weak and had fainted. Dr Mehra asked him what his qualification was. Simon replied that he could study only up to the tenth grade. But, he was a good driver. It was then Dr Mehra had an idea. He asked Simon if he would become Dr Mehra’s driver for a monthly salary. Simon was more than glad to oblige. Soon Simon became not only the doctor’s driver but also his trustworthy assistant.

Dr. Mehra saw Simon lying on a pavement on a sunny day. He could not resist himself and brought him home. Simon had been starving for a few days and had fainted on the pavement. Dr. Mehra brought him home and revived him. He gave him good food and some vitamins.

When Simon was little better Dr. Mehra asked him about his life. He came to know that Simon did not have any relatives in the city. He had come from a small town to find work. Two months had passed and he could not get a job.

Dr. Mehra asked him about his qualifications. Simon said that he had a B.Sc. degree. Dr. Mehra had been looking for an assistant. So he appointed Simon as his assistant and gave him a room to stay in the house. Simon was very happy. He was very grateful to Dr. Mehra.

Now he had a job and a place to stay. He served his master sincerely. In the course of time, he learnt a lot about medicines and medical treatment. After a few years he set up his own pharmacy. But he always remained grateful to Dr. Mehra for giving him a new lease of life.
