I like going with my father to the bank. I find it interesting to notice how things work in a bank. On Monday, I had study leave and I joined him when he went to the bank. My father was busy depositing cheques and was also talking to teller.

I was looking around observing people moving around and doing their work. Just then, I saw two suspicious looking men enter the bank. I also noticed a bulge in their side. I was not happy with their looks. I slowly slid around the counter where my father was standing and went to the back where I had noticed the security guard going earlier.

The moment I was away from sight of the two men, I rushed to the guard and told him about the two men who had just come into the bank. Though I was young the guard trusted my word and became alert and asked me to stay put. He moved forward cautiously behind the counters to the front of the bank.

I could not see much after that. But I was told that the guard accosted the two men from behind before they could act and called the police.

I learnt the value of observation and alertness that day.
