The Best Christmas Gift
It happened last year, all the family members came in our house to celebrate christmas.
I was aware of the fact that the gifts for us, were kept under the huge green tree, glittering with colourful balls. I was a bit worried that my cousins might get the best of the gifts. I doubted if they'll show me their gifts.
I was thinking about these and was rolling on bed. Suddenly an idea came in my mind! "Why don't I go and see them myself?", I question to myself.
Then at the darkness of night, I sneaked into the living room to check out the presents kept under the tree. I was seeing the wonderful gifts wrapped in colourful sheets--- toys, guns, teddys, and chocolates.
Suddenly I heard a voice. A spund of shuffling of small paws. I understood it was coming from one of the presents. I needed the gift with wonder, with increasing heartbeat.
Then I saw- Ah! What did I see?
The present box was open from top and a cute white kitten was inside fighting with a soft toy that was inside the box. I saw that the present was for me. I became quite sad. And I was sure I can never have the kitten as my gift.
Mean while everyone came in the hall as it was 12am. They found me standing sadly. When I narrated them the story. Mom said, "Who said you'll get no gift? Whatever is inside the box is yours. You may keep the kitten."
That's what brings me today's Christmas. I'm growing up with my little kitten. Hoping to be together with it till the end.
