It was a rainy day, and water pelted on the windows; shaking them in their frames. Lightning crackled outside as I curled up on my favourite armchair, with a cup of hot chocolate in my hands. Everyone was out — for some reason — and I was dead bored. I curled up deeper in my blanket, just as the lights died. Again. With a deep sigh, I heaved myself out of my chair, taking great care to leave my steaming mug on the table. As I walked to the generator in the storeroom, a knock on the front door interrupted abruptly. Torn, I decided to check the generator; if there was someone will ill will outside at least I'd be able to call someone. Another knock, and this one was rather hurried. Cursing, I decided to get the door first.
