Once there was a poor blind beggar. He begged in the streets of Vienna. Every evening he played on his violin and sang there. His dog was his constant companion. People would surround both of them and enjoy the music. After the song was over the dog would hold a basket in his mouth and go around. People would put coins, food and other items in it. This was the way the beggar and his dog earned their living.
One day the beggar was not well and could not sing or play the violin. Seeing this the dog took the basket and danced and jumped and skipped. People saw him and enjoyed his pranks. They understood that he was trying to help his master. Everyone praised the dog. They said that he was the beggar's true friend and was trying to help him in need. He expressed his love and loyalty for the beggar by entertaining people when he was not able to do it.
That day the people felt a new joy, a joy which is born out of true love and sincerity. The dog inspired values in them. They felt elated to see the beggar and the dog helping each other. So everyone put double number of things and money in the basket when the dog went round as usual after the performance. Everyone, including the beggar and the dog were happy.
Once there was a poor blind beggar. He begged on the streets of Vienna. Each evening he played the violin and sang for the crowds that passed by. His only companion was his dog, the faithful being. One day, as he made his way to his spot on the pavement, a flashy car came by at a great speed. The driver had seen the blind man and masterfully maneuvered the car to avoid hitting him. The driver applied brakes and the car came to a screeching halt. A tall young man emerged from the car. He hurried over to the blind man. His deep frown revealed a weird mix of anger and anxiety.
The young man called out to the blind man loudly, but the latter did not quite realise that he was being addressed. Even the dog did not seem to respond to the youth. In turn, he increased his pace and caught up with the old man. A short conversation later, the two men and the dog headed towards the car. They then drove off.
The young man was headed to the hospital, where his father had been admitted with a mild heart condition. They had called to inform him that his father had unexpectedly suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. Overcome with the grief of having lost his dad, the young man had decided that he would try his best to brighten up others’ lives. The blind man could receive his father’s eyes! He and his father could bring a smile on someone’s face.
A few months later, the man picked up a job at an animal welfare center. His dog dutifully went to work with him each day, where he got decent meals and a lot of love from everyone around!
