To his surprise, there is no other passenger in his coupe going to Darjeeling. For a minute, he thinks about getting down and going to the next compartment to see if there are people inside. Just then the ticket examiner comes over and asks him for his ticket. As he gives the ticket, he expresses his concern to the ticket examiner.

The conductor has a look at the ticket and laughs. For one thing, he has boarded the wrong train. Secondly, the date of travel is the next day.
