Ramesh used to attend school on feet which was 3 kilometers from his home. Since his father was poor farmworker he could not afford to purchase a cycle. They had a hand to mouth existence and were living under utmost distress.
Ramesh was a responsible and diligent son. He wrote to his principal stating the reason for his negligence of other co-curricular activities organized in his school. They worked day and night and were optimistic about their future. Their only source of income was their crop.
He could hardly even study after returning from school as he used to get tired. He was engrossed only in the thoughts about ways to earn money. His father auctioned all his valuables belongings in the market and somehow managed to garner some money. During night Ramesh would assist in the factory to earn some extra money. He gradually saved some money to purchase a bicycle. He was ecstatic and euphoric to be the owner of a bicycle which made his as well as his family's life serene in terms of travelling.
