" Common! thank you for coming to my house on my birthday”, said Mr. Prabhudaya. The thief was astounded to hear these words and as he began to run, Mr. Prabhudaya screamed, “Kindly don’t go away. Stay back; I won’t call police. I will also give you rupees 10000/- for giving me company on my birthday.
The thief was influenced by the tone of supplication in Mr. Prabhudaya’s voice. He also saw tears of loneliness in his eyes. He stopped and looking intently at Mr. Prabhudaya said, “OK! I will give you company! But don’t call anyone!”
‘Sure!”, said Mr. Prabhudaya smilingly.
So the thief sat at the dining table. A cake lay awaiting to be cut. Mr. Prabhudaya cut the cake and the thief clapped and chanted: “Happy birthday to you…”
Mr. Prabhudaya served many eatables to the thief. And as promised he paid the thief rupees 10000/-. The thief happily said good bye to Mr. Prabhudaya and went his way.
