  • resistor  in series between A and B and
  • resistors  in parallel between C and D

  • Let R1 and R2 connected in series as in the figure, between A and B

Then the equivalent Resistance value is given by

  • Req = R1 + R2

  • Let resistors R3 and R4 are connected in parallel, as in the figure between C and D.

Then the equivalent Resistance value is given by

  • Req =  R1xR2/(R1+R2)
