This is definitely not Fibonacci series as ,when u come across 5 and 8 it sums up to 13 which is contradictory to the series up here ,then one possible solution could be alternate addition and subtraction of whole numbers as follows
The pattern goes on like subtracting and adding whole numbers a couple of times to each number

2+3–0=5
3+5+0=8
5+8–1=12
8+12+1=17
17+12–1=28
