The Jungle

I thrived in every nook and corner 
I made a country proud with treasure
Hermits and saints roamed around
The flora and fauna simply abound

Home to countless birds and beasts
Their singing a roaring repletes
Slowly my limbs were amputated
Leaving birds and beasts meted

The motive behind destruction
Man's limitless greed and ambition
Without giving any heed, with reeds
He too would be gone with the wind.
