Once upon a time there lived a girl who used to visit a temple everyday even though the temple was isolated. She prayed for her father who was in the army and fighting on the border. The temple goddess once decided to test her dedication. She took the form of a cat and went to the girl. The girl saw the cat and took pity on it. She thought that the cat was lost and decided to take the cat to a farm. She visited the farm daily and gave the cat fish and milk. She also spent time with the cat taking care of it and letting it sleep in her lap. The goddess who was happy with the girl's kind nature, came into her original form and told her that her father will be all right in the war and will come home in a month's time.
