Fishes are the creatures of water. They are the beauty of the
aquatic world. Imagine how barren seas, oceans, rivers, and other water bodies
were if there were no fishes in them. There are so many types of fishes that
counting them will be almost an impossible task.
Most of the fishes are cold-blooded. They can communicate
with one another using sounds that they produce using their skeleton or swim-bladder.
People in all parts of the world depend upon fishes for their
food. However, in some parts of the world such as Alaska, Greenland, Iceland,
etc. people chiefly live on fishes. Along coastal regions fishing is the chief profession
of many people.
Many species of fishes have been exceedingly affected by
toxic water pollution and oil spills. Many species are facing extinction.
People of the world must join hands to conserve and preserve fishes. Water
pollution must be minimized. The Governments of the world must implement
stricter laws to protect fishes.
