Please ask proper questions, the values in your question are confusing.

Here I have assumed that X has 6 protons and 6 neutrons and Y has 6 protons and 8 neutrons

X and Y have atomic number 6, making them a carbon atom

But X has 6 neutrons

  • Atomic mass = no.of protons + no.of neutrons

Atomic mass of X=6+6=12u

Atomic mass of Y=6+8=14u

Since X and Y have same atomic number but different atomic masses. Therefore, X and Y are isotopes, differing in the number of neutrons
