I was going for a night walk. The sky was perfectly clear without even a wisp of a cloud. The stars twinkled brightly in the distant space. Enjoying the pleasant weather and the panorama, I had come quite far away from the madding crowd.

The road I was ambling on began ascending a hill. On either side I could see the city lights twinkling like stars. I intended to return homeward after a few hundred meters; suddenly, my feet struck something metallic. In the descending darkness, I bent and picked it up!

It looked like an ancient lamp. It exactly looked like Aladdin’s magic lamp. I thought to try rubbing it and see whether any genii came out of it. I rubbed it vigorously; and suddenly a smoke began coming out of its spout! And then with a sudden flash the genii materialized. He said, ‘Your wish is my command!’  

I was utterly flabbergasted! I said to him, ‘Take me home!’ No sooner had is said it than I found myself inside my bedroom! The genii again reappeared and said, ‘Master, I will grant many of your wishes! All you have to do is rub the lamp.’ Saying this it vanished into thin air.

I hid the lamp safely in my cupboard.
