Baisakhi is celebrated in punjab for the good yield of crops.they burn bonfire in which they put the small amount of crop in the fire.They perform their folk dance BHANGRA on the occassion nd exchanges sweet.

baisakhi is the first day of the vikrama calender for the hindus and it is about 50 years older then the christian era. it is observed as new year's day in several parts of india .specially in north india . for hindus baisakhi is a religious festival when people go to the temples to pray for their famalies and for their childrens.
