Let X be magnesium and Y be Chlorine.

So its nature is neutral as it is a electrovalent bonded salt.

Its formula XY2.

Valency of X and Y is 2 and 1 respectively.

Valence electrons in X is 2 whereas in Y it is 7.

It will conduct electricity also.
