Explanation:

Y because Ethanol and the solution of glucose containing hydrogen in their molecules do not conduct electricity. Therefore/ these compounds do not produce ions in solutions. Hence these are not categorised as acids.

here is a experiment

Aim:

To show that compound such as alchohols and glucose also contain hydrogen but are not categorized as acids

Apparatus:

Two nails, cork, beaker 6volt battery , bulb, switch, dilute HCLsolution, rubber cork

Procedure:

Fix two nails on the cork and keep this in 100ml beaker. Two nails are fixed to 6 volt battery, bulb and switch. Then pour some dilute HCl in the breaker and switch on the current. Repeat the experiment separately with glucose and alcohol solutions.

Bulb glows in HCl solution but do not glows in glucose solution.

Bulb glows in HCl solution but do not glows in glucose solution.Result:

HCl→H+ and Cl−ions.

Conclusion :

These ions conduct electricity and bulb glows. By this experiment we conclude that all acids contain Hydrogen.
