Read this passage and answer the questions.
Two cranes and a turtle
Two cranes and a turtle live
beside a small pond.
They are very good friends.
One summer, it is very hot and
their pond begins to dry up.
The three friends think about
what they can do. The two
cranes can easily fly away
to another pond nearby,
but the turtle cannot fly.
Then the turtle has a clever idea. He says, “I have a good idea. We must
find a thick stick. Then both of you hold the two ends of the stick with
your strong claws and I will tightly hold the middle of the stick with my
teeth. In this way, we can all fly away together.”
The cranes also think it is a good idea. They quickly find a thick wooden
stick and prepare to fly to the other pond. Before they leave, the cranes tell
