The lion is the King of Beasts, and as I came into the Lion House,
I was met with loud roars as I stood to admire the splendid African
lion, with his golden fawn coat, his wavy black-edged mane, and
his long tufted tail. "If you were in Africa, what kind of a place
would you choose for your home?" I asked.
The lion replied, "I should seek out a dark cave or a rocky place
for my den; and there my mate and I would rest during the day,
and go out to hunt our food at dusk. If we had a family of young
cubs, the lioness would stay with them, and I should hunt alone,
and bring back food for her."
