Solution:

First differentiate the given function

y = {x}^{2} - 6x - 3 \\ \\ \frac{dy}{dx} = 2x - 6 \\ \\
Since
 \frac{d{x}^{n}}{dx} = n {x}^{n - 1} \\ \\ \frac{dc}{dx} = 0 \\ \\
where C is constant

Now to find derivative at x = 1, put the value x = 1 in the derivative

 (\frac{dy}{dx} )_{x=1} = 2(1) - 6 \\ \\ = 2 - 6 \\ \\ (\frac{dy}{dx} )_{x=1}= - 4 \\ \\
Hope it helps you.
