Median =

l +  ( \frac{ \frac{n}{2}  - cf}{f} ) \times h

where,

  • L = lower limit of median class
  • h = difference between upper limits and lower limits
  • f = frequency of median class
  • cf = cumulative frq. preceding the median class

Here,

  • n = 150
  • n/2 = 75
  • median class = (110 - 120)
  • f = 45
  • h = 10
  • L = 110
  • cf = 60

Substituting the values,

Median = 110 + (75 - 60/45)10

= 110 + (15/45)10

= 110 + 150/45

= 110 + 3.3

= 113.3

Answer:

n = 150

n/2 = 75

median class = (110 - 120)

f = 45

h = 10

L = 110

cf = 60

Substituting the values,

Median = 110 + (75 - 60/45)10

= 110 + (15/45)10

= 110 + 150/45

= 110 + 3.3

= 113.3
