Answer:

mass of NaCl = 23+35.5 = 58.5g

no. of moles of NaCl = 5.85/58.5 = 0.1

the no. of ions present in 5.85 g of sodium chloride = 0.1 x 6.022 x 10²³ = 6.022 x 10²² ions

Answer:

1.2044 × 10²³

Explanation:

molar mass of NaCl = 58.5 g/mol

given mass = 5.85 g

no. of moles  = given mass/ molar mass

                   =  5.85g/58.5 g/mol

                   = 1/10 mol

                   = 0.1 mol

1 mole has 2 ions as Na+  and Cl-

∴ 0.1 mole have = 0.1 × 2

                           = 0.2 mole ions

no. of ions =  0.2 × 6.022 × 10²³

                   = 1.2044 × 10²³
