we have to compute the speed of the electromagnetic wave in a medium if the amplitude of electric and magnetic fields are 3 × 10⁴ N/C and 3 × 10¯⁴ T respectively.

Solution : using formula,

speed of electromagnetic wave , v = E₀/B₀

where E₀ = amplitude of electric field

B₀ = amplitude of magnetic field.

here, E₀ = 3 × 10⁴ N/C and B₀ = 3 × 10¯⁴ T

so, v = (3 × 10⁴)/(3 × 10¯⁴) = 10^8 m/s

Therefore the speed of electromagnetic wave is 10^8 m/s.
